Age does not diminish the extreme disappointment of having a scoop of ice cream fall from the cone. ~Jim Fiebig
Now, I came across this quote and it made me think.
Does age really change our likes and dislikes? Or does it merely refine them?
Here's the thing. Since I was young, I have HATED tuna, miracle whip, mayonnaise, mustard, and cottage cheese.
Really, these are the only things I refuse to eat. I hated them a child, and I do now.
But I still love a big 'ol scoop of ice cream. And, if it were to fall on the ground, it is true, I would be disappointed and I find it hard to find someone who wouldn't be. Now, if I had a big 'ol bowl of mayonnaise, mustard, cottage cheese tuna soup, and if it were to fall on the ground I wouldn't be sore at all. In fact, it would be a silent celebration for me as I have conquered those malignant evils using gravity as my aid.
Even if lactose intolerance became an issue for you later in life, I'm sure you still love the taste-- just no the outcome.
